Di’s Anniversary and the Arts

Princess Diana was a well-known backer of the arts, ballet in particular. But there was little sign of her cultural preferences in the service held today, August 31, to mark the tenth anniversary of her death in a car crash in Paris. The cultural sphere was represented in the music played throughout the ceremony held at Guards’ Chapel, near Buckingham Palace: Diana’s favorite classical music, by Rachmaninov and Mozart. And, yes, the Queen was there, wearing royal purple.
