“Cry-Baby” Casts for Broadway
Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming La Jolla Playhouse stage debut of the new musical “Cry-Baby.” James Snyder and Tony Award winner Harriet Harris are among the stars of the Broadway-bound production.
The California run is slated for Nov. 6-Dec. 16 at the company’s Mandell Weiss Theatre. A March 2008 bow on Broadway is targeted with an official opening in April.
Mark Brokaw stages and Rob Ashford choreographs the new musical based on the John Waters film about “the baddest boy in town” who falls for a good girl in 1954’s Baltimore. The show features a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by David Javerbaum and Adam Schlesinger.
