Movie Audiences “Get Married”

Tyler Perry’s urban romantic comedy “Why Did I Get Married?” made a strong debut at the box office, winning the weekend of Oct. 12-14, while holdover “The Game Plan” beat out star-packed new entries “Michael Clayton” and “We Own the Night” for No. 2 in a fourth-quarter upset. Among limited debuts, the rock ‘n roll biopic “Control” grossed an estimated $27,000 from an exclusive run at the Film Forum in Gotham for the highest per-screen average of the weekend among specialty titles.
