The Usual Sundance Soul-Searching

Just as every January brings young actors to the Sundance Film Festival in search of attention, so every year brings another horde of journalists filing stories about how the Park City, Utah event has “lost its soul.” Here’s one of the latest examples of the latter phenomenon, just in time for the 2008 conclave, which begins on Thursday. The opening night film is “In Bruges,” written and directed by Martin McDonagh and starring Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes. I’ve seen the movie, and will post a review in the next day or two.
