“South Pacific”: The Troops Assemble
Yesterday, I had the very great pleasure of attending the initial full rehearsal of “South Pacific,” at Lincoln Center Theater in New York. The production, which starts previews March 1 prior to an April 3 opening, is the first full-scale Broadway revival of this beloved 1949 musical. I will be blogging the rehearsal period and subsequent run of the show for Lincoln Center Theater and its soon-to-be-revamped website, www.lct.org, where you may go for tickets. If you have any interest in this show whatsoever, I urge you to buy your seats now. Once previews begin and the word gets around about how good the cast and the designs are, those tickets will start to get scarce.
