“Priscilla” Wraps Stage Run

“Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” will wrap its Melbourne run on April 27, seven months after opening at the Regent Theater.
Original tuner, based on the hit Aussie pic of the same name, preemed in Sydney in October 2006 before transferring to Melbourne a year later.
Producer Liz Koops said “Priscilla” is the most successful homegrown Aussie musical of all time. By the time it closes, it will have played 611 performances, been seen by almost a million people and grossed more than A$80 million ($71.5 million).
No more Oz dates have been announced but a U.K. production of the show is confirmed for 2009, with further productions being considered for Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, France, the U.S., Canada, Japan, Brazil and New Zealand.
