A “Happy-Go-Lucky” Award Winner
Mike Leigh’s new film, “Happy-Go-Lucky,” doesn’t have an American release date yet, but now that its star, Sally Hawkins (pictured), has won an award at the just-concluded Berlin Film Festival for her portrayal of a of a free-spirited young teacher, I’m smelling a possible Oscar nomination for her next year, and either a late summer or early autumn rollout for the movie in the U.S., to boost its American-award chances.
