Get Thee To “Black Watch”

I don’t often find myself in agreement with the New York Times’ drama critic, Ben Brantley, but I think he was absolutely right about “Black Watch,” which I saw this afternoon. I missed this play about the Iraq War when it played St. Ann’s Warehouse, in Brooklyn, last year. How glad I am it has a return engagement at the same venue, because it is spectacular! It is theatrical in ways that New York audiences rarely experience. I won’t go on and on about it; I’ll just link here to the Brantley review, because it really nails what’s unique about this show.
