Another Effect of George W. Bush

Not since Nelson Mandela danced at his inauguration has a diplomatic figure tried to appear as youthful as Colin Powell (pictured) did last night in London when he thought for a second that he had morphed from ex-Secretary of State into a hip-hop star. According to the London Times, “the former US Secretary of State climbed on stage of the Royal Albert Hall and surprised audiences with an impromptu hip hop dance and song. Still wearing a buttoned up suit the statesman performed with Nigerian group Olu Maintain (also pictured) and did a version of the Nigerian dance Yahoozee. He even took the microphone to sing lyrics and showed a natural rhythm as the pop stars taught him their dance moves.”

Note to Obama: Please please please at your inaugural, when your beloved Jay-Z performs, do not leap on stage and try to be an MC.
