SAG Has Its “Doubt”s, Gets “Milk”
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has just announced its nominations for awards to be handed out January 25. This is the first part of the Academy Awards derby that isn’t critic- or journalist-driven. List is here. Obvious omissions: Leonardo DiCaprio for “Revolutionary Road” and critics’ darling Sally Hawkins for “Happy-Go-Lucky.” Lots of love for “Doubt” (five noms), “Benjamin Button” (three), and “Milk” (three). As for SAG’s television nominations, I’m glad to see that Susan Sarandon and Ralph Fiennes both got noms for “Bernard and Doris.”
