GG: Best Actress/Movie Drama
With Kate Winslet’s win, her second of the night, for “Revolutionary Road,” I’m going to have to do what Dev Patel did in “Slumdog:” phone a friend. In this case, lemonwade’s Oscar expert, Rex Okpodu. I want to know if anyone has ever won both Globe acting awards in the same year. Although it’s IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER that the Globes correlation to the Oscars is often modest, I think I can say that WInslet comes out of the Globes as the frontrunner for Oscar’s Best Actress. And, by the way, it’s not a sure thing yet that she’ll be nominated for “The Reader” in the supporting category: she could be twice nommed in the Best Actress category.
