Bolshoi To Re-open Soon? Nyet!
I am at Lincoln Center in New York almost every day. The complex has been a massive construction site for at least three years, and work somewhere on the campus will probably continue for three or four more. Some days the jackhammering and drilling are nerve-shattering. The next time I’m tempted to bitch, however, I’m going to remember this story about the renovation of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (plush boxes from the facility are pictured). The theatre closed in 2005 and was supposed to re-open in 2011. The date has been pushed back to 2013.
