According to this report, Natasha Richardson has been taken off life support. Her family made the hard, and, I suspect, humane decision. I can’t even muster up a tribute to her at this point. Her loved ones are devastated. I keep thinking of the moving performance given by her mother, Vanessa Redgrave, a couple of seasons ago, in Joan Didion’s “The Year of Magical Thinking,” on Broadway. That story was in part about the death of Didion’s daughter, Quintana. It looks as if a similar reality is now Redgrave’s.
