Eastern Media Condescends To Iowa
Some of today’s reporting about the Iowa Supreme Court’s decision to allow marriage equality has had a risibly snooty ring to it. The Daily Beast, for example, began its coverage with: “Iowa isn’t a state you would consider on the vanguard of social liberalism.” Well, excuse me, but it wasn’t New York, where the Daily Beast is based, which kicked off the electoral drive to make Obama the President, and it isn’t New York that now has same-sex marriage. It’s Iowa!
