“Ruined” Wins Pulitzer Prize

ruinedfeat200According to Playbill, Lynn Nottage’s Ruined (Pictured), which is currently playing an extended engagement at Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York City Center Stage I through May 10, has been named the winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.’ “Ruined” beat out fellow nominees “Becky Shaw” by Gina Gionfriddo and “In the Heights” by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegria Hudes. Lemonwade reported in February that “Ruined” was ‘the strongest new American play I’ve seen this season‘. Well, the votes are in, and the opinion of Lemonwade stands. Congrats!
