Spacey Wants To Host The Oscars
Kevin Spacey (pictured) is considering starting an Internet campaign to land the job of hosting the 2010 Academy Awards. Spacey is an exceptionally fine actor and he’s done an outstanding job running the Old Vic theatre in London. But the Oscar producers, whose ratings with Hugh Jackman were up this year, would be fools to trade a Wolverine with an international hit movie in 2009, sex appeal, and charming song-and-dance moves, for someone who hasn’t starred in a cinematic hit in years and who alienates a core constituency of the Oscars (gay people) by his closety, unctuous persona.
