Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
ADVICE FOR THE FOODLORN
by Tom Steele
I eat a lot of Asian food, and go through a lot of soy sauce. My doctor has told me that I need to reduce my sodium intake. Are the low-sodium soy sauces any good?

Most of the “light” soy sauce sold is not lower in sodium, just lighter in flavor and color. But Kikkoman, which makes my own favorite soy sauce, makes a “Less Sodium Soy Sauce” that is nearly 40 percent lower in sodium, and to my taste, it’s just as good as the company’s regular soy sauce.
