“Joe” Okay; “Julia” Better

gijoeEven though the “G.I. Joe” movie handily won the weekend movie box office, my headline says that “Julie and Julia” is “better” because, relative to cost, it is. “Joe,” starring Channing Tatum (pictured), cost around $175 million and “Julia” around $40 million. “Joe” scored a domestic haul this weekend of around $56 million, but “Julia” generated $20 million — that buys a whole lot of Julia Child’s favorite thing: butter.
