Binoche Opens In New York

The piece has just opened at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The first graf of the New York Times review, when the work premiered last year in London: ‘If you were to watch “in-i” performed by two unknowns at a small-scale modern-dance space in Manhattan, scarcely any of this new piece would seem the least bit remarkable. But because the performers are Juliette Binoche and Akram Khan, and the place is the National Theater here, suddenly the event becomes a big deal.’ The Times’ reviewer this week was scarcely more impressed.
