Shirley Bassey Fêtes New CD
If the mark of an icon is the volume of impersonations (s)he inspires, then Dame Shirley Bassey, seen in the video singing one of her James Bond theme songs, is one of the greats. And she’s not dead! Her new album — her first in 20 years — is called “The Performance” and it will be released Nov. 9.
To commemorate the occasion, a gaggle of British pop stars (plus Rufus Wainwright) assembled the other night in London to celebrate Shirley.
