Sarandon To Be “Valley” Girl

Other remake (actually, adaptation) news today: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Susan Sarandon is in talks to play Victoria Barkley, the matriarch of an 1870s ranching family, in a big screen adaptation of the 1960s ABC drama “The Big Valley.” The role was originated by the incomparable Miss Barbara Stanwyck (video tribute above), who won an Emmy for her work in 1966 and has been a lesbian icon ever since.
