Stephens Battle; Sondheim Victorious
Stephen Colbert’s overbearing persona on his Comedy Central talk show makes it frustrating for guests who come on spoiling for a serious chat. But the other night Stephen Sondheim showed himself a master at going along with Colbert’s nonsense while getting his points across (video here). Bravo for the master! And if you haven’t gotten Sondheim’s book, “Finishing the Hat,” you must INSIST that your nears and dears give it you for Christmas or risk defriending.
