When Art Dallied With Poetry

TIBOR-popupIf New York in the two decades after the Second World War was a cultural Golden Age to beat all New York Golden Ages (I’ll stick with the 1970s: sexier, less self-serious), then certainly the Ab-Ex painters and their poet friends were at the heart of the action. A tangy new show commemorating the moment, “Tibor de Nagy Painters & Poets,” has opened. Larry Rivers’ portrait of the poet John Ashbery (pictured) is one of the works on display.
