Movies: Alcohol Still Sophisticated?
For decades, the martini was synonymous in Hollywood comedy for sophistication. In our twelve-step age, however, if you indulge as much as Nick and Nora did in the “The Thin Man” movies, you’d be considered ripe for rehab not repartee. So how is Johnny Depp’s remake of “The Thin Man” — not to mention the imminent remake of “Arthur,” about a drunk — going to finesse the question of the cocktail?
