Ashley: Molestation, Dysfunction
Ashley Judd (pictured) is one of the most intelligent people in Hollywood, and I suspect that it is that intelligence, along with a drive for social justice, that has made her focus her energies the past few years not on making movies but on activism. Where does her drive come from? We get a few clues in Judd’s new memoir, “All That Is Bitter & Sweet.” It reveals a sad look into the home life of her famous family — sexual abuse, a heroin-addicted stepfather figure. Ashley’s mother and sister, Naomi and Wynonna, otherwise known as the country-music act The Judds, like to say that their clan put the fun in dysfunctional. Ashley begs to differ.
