Your Weekend: LW Recommends

Movies: Herzog’s “Cave of Forgotten Dreams” sounds like something that will show up eventually on the Sundance Channel. By contrast, the latest fast-and-furious flick, “Fast Five” — starring Paul Walker with the comely butt — sounds like something that needs to be seen on the big screen. Television: If you’ve recovered from the Royal Wedding (or are relieved that it’s over), move over from the A List to the D List, when HGTV premieres its series, “Hollywood at Home,” with such who-are-they? celebs as Lisa Ling and Trace Adkins. Books: I’ve been chuckling at the Princess prissiness of Gwyneth Paltrow’s food book, “My Father’s Daughter.” Sports: Now that the New York teams are out of the playoffs, I’ve retreated to baseball: the hapless Mets and the wobbly Yankees. Music: I’ve been giving an advance listen to Stevie Nicks’ new CD, “In Your Dreams,” in which she’s still channelling the woo-woo New Age ethereal vibe of 30 years ago. Finally: Donate to the Southern tornado relief effort.
