Piaf: Most Chosen Desert Island Disc
The Edith Piaf song “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” – which translates as ”No, I’m not sorry for anything” – has been revealed as the most popular non-classical track to be chosen by castaways on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. The BBC has for the first time compiled a list of the eight most frequently picked songs, dating back to the show’s birth in 1942. Sinatra comes in at Number 2. Poor Judy Garland — the American Piaf, or is it the other way around? — only manages a sixth-place finish. Question: how many of you can whistle the number-five song? (No cheating!)
