The “Picasso Of India” Dies At 95

MF Husain, the most highly prized Indian artist, died Thursday at the age of 95. Husain was often called the “Picasso of India” for his paintings; he also made two Bollywood films. In 2006, his paintings of nude Hindu goddesses angered Hindus, and he left India to take up citizenship in Qatar. (His work depicting the goddess Durga in sexual union with a tiger is pictured.) He was in a hospital in London when he died.
