“Billy Elliot” Writer In Gay Flare-Up

Lee Hall (pictured), who wrote the smash musical “Billy Elliot,” has spent the past year working on an epic opera starring 300 schoolchildren. Now his backers have pulled out, mainly because one of the characters in the piece is gay.
