VMAs: Foul-Mouthed And Pointless

The New York Times critic may think that the MTV’s Video Music Awards were “a surprisingly enjoyable mess.” To me, they were just a mess: foul-mouthed in a pointless way (Lady Gaga‘s male alter ego was the worst offender) and unfunny in the use of profanity. When the million-year-old Cloris Leachman is swapping foul talk with the cast of “Jersey Shore,” you know it’s time to change the channel. I would have gladly watched MTV’s new comedy series, “Death Valley,” about an outbreak of zombieism, vampirism, and werewolfism in the San Fernando Valley, instead of the awards nonsense.
