What Barack Obama Could Learn From The Women Of “The Help”

LemonWade’s Oscar prognosticator Rex Okpodu (who’s revving up his engine for awards season) has been observing the success of America’s favorite movie and sent me the following e-mail: ‘In “The Help,” the servants’ back-breaking work bringing up generations of white children was taken for granted until they spoke out (through the white writer character). Obama’s back-breaking work trying to clean up the terrible legacy he inherited is increasingly being unappreciated (as shown by the polls). He needs to take a page from Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, grow some backbone, and stand up for himself in the run-up to 2012.’ I agree, Rex: I would love it if Obama would serve the Republicans some shit pie!
