Ladies Get Gooey (Again) For Austen

I revere Jane Austen, but does every female writer or director at some point in her career have to turn her attention to Miss Jane? More specifically, to “Pride and Prejudice”? This week, I learned that Nora Ephron (pictured) will write and direct “Lost in Austen, about a contemporary woman and Jane Austen fan who winds up smack in the middle of “Pride and Prejudice.” And that P.D. James‘ next book, “Death Comes to Pemberley,” will involve “Pride”‘s heroine, Elizabeth, in a murder investigation. Sheesh!
