Brad Pitt Consoles Suicidal Man

I’ve always thought there was a big heart beating beneath the glam exterior of Brad Pitt, and stories like this confirm my intuition. The dashing star, 47, encountered a dangerously distraught man during a Q&A session following a special “Moneyball” screening at the Cary Grant Theatre in Culver City, California.

The man publicly admitted to Pitt and “Moneyball” costar Jonah Hill that he battled suicidal thoughts alone in his car before the night’s event, the magazine said.

“Look, man, life is up and down, it’s a vicious cycle, but you have to go through it and deal with that,’” Pitt said, according to an observer who spoke to Us Weekly.

“You can be down, but then you come back up again, and every failure can lead to success,” the observer quoted Pitt as saying.

The admittedly suicidal man said he was heartened by Pitt’s film about Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane, saying it gave him “a renewed sense of hope,” the mag said.

“It was a touching moment,” a second observer told Us. “As he left the theatre, (Pitt) even stopped to talk with the guy to offer him some more words of encouragement because he was obviously fragile.”
