Sacha Baron Cohen’s “The Dictator”
Sacha Baron Cohen‘s attempt to smile was for me the funniest moment in the enchanting current movie “Hugo.” Cohen, however, is about to return to the satire that made his name with Ali G and “Borat.” The vehicle: “The Dictator,” his new Khaddafi comedy that will be released in May. The trailer is mildly amusing. (Anything would be an improvement over Cohen’s monumentally unfunny “Bruno.”) But isn’t it a beat too late for a satire about the Libyan? Or is a Chaplinesque send-up of a dictator timeless?
