Trinity Church Cuts Back Arts

Trinity Church, that venerable institution at the end of Wall Street in downtown New York, got its nose bloodied, at least in P.R. terms, with its recent decision vis-a-vis the Occupy Wall Street folks. So you’d think they’d be especially concerned to clean up their image right now. Guess not. How to explain its decision to cut back on its music programming, which is free and among the most impressive in the city? In case you didn’t know, Trinity is one of the largest (if not the largest) religion-related land owners in New York. They ain’t hurting for bucks. But they will be starved for copious music soon.
