Miss Portman Likes “Scruples”

Are the 1980s returning, at least on television? One sign: that decade’s signature tangy soap opera about the mega-rich is making a comeback. “Revenge” led the way, and soon we’ll have a re-boot of “Dallas.” Now we learn that “Scruples,” a tawdry Beverly Hills tale by Judith Krantz, will get another adaptation, this time executive produced by Natalie Portman. (I guess being an actor, especially when you have to learn really hard things like ballet, doesn’t suit her current role as a Mommy.) A previous version of “Scruples” in 1980 starred Lindsay Wagner (pictured).
