RuPaul Debuts Her “Drag Race”
Is it possible for a drag queen to be too over-the-top? That’s the question I asked myself during Monday night’s premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” I mean, Drag Zombies? Is this a sign of creativity, or just plain desperation? The first competition, an apocalyptic photo shoot, was fine, with Jiggly Caliente a rightful winner. But as the 90-minute debut dragged on, the show felt like one of those parties where everyone has had the fourth cocktail but you’re stuck back there on Martini No. 2. Meanwhile, the blogs are asking: Is Sharon Needles the most sickening contestant ever?
