King’s College Choir: Easter Music


Easter for western Christians tends to mean one thing: Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. And nobody sings it like the assembled musicians at King’s College, Cambridge. The performance above isn’t, strictly speaking, “St. Matthew Passion.” It’s a Bach hymn, “O Sacred Head Sore Wounded.” But Bach used the melody and stanzas of the hymn in the larger “Matthew” work.
