Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends
Movies: “Snow White and the Huntsman” is worth a look for the visuals, even if the storytelling is being faulted. Can’t bring myself to see “Moonrise Kingdom.” Television: Nothing exists this weekend for me here except the finale of “Game of Thrones.” Can’t believe the season is already over. Music: Is there a bigger douche in popular music than John Mayer, whose new CD is called “Born and Raised“? I hate how even classical CDs are now packaged as “must-haves.” Books: Rich Cohen’s new book, “The Fish That Ate The Whale,” is told with the author’s signature humor and finesse. Sports: It’s hard for me to say which NBA playoff team I want to lose more: the Celtics or the Heat, either of whom will be squashed by the Spurs or Thunder. Finally: I’ve gone a whole week without reading any online news about Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, and I’ve gotta tell you: it feels great.
