New Video From Whitney Houston Movie

One of the things that’s getting me through the summer — through Supreme Court nail-biters, through relentless Presidential political campaigning, through endless “Jersey Shore” spinoffs and silly tear-fests on the “Today” show — is the thought of Whitney Houston’s final movie, a remake of the 1976 “Sparkle.” No, I don’t expect it to be as gritty-good as the original, starring Lonette McKee and Irene Cara, which gave rise to a sensational album of Curtis Mayfield songs sung by Aretha Franklin. But the new “Sparkle” could be something. I know it. While waiting, here’s the new video for the movie’s “Celebrate” song.
