Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends

Movies: A new “Ice Age” movie arrives to help out parents. I still need to catch up to “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” the leading Oscar contender this year to-date. Television: The only thing you need to know for this weekend is: “Breaking Bad,” “Breaking Bad,” “Breaking Bad.” I won’t be watching because I’m helplessly behind catching up on the previous seasons. Time for some binge viewing? Music: Do the sales of Frank Ocean’s new CD, “channel ORANGE,” prove that coming-out can be good for your career? Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake” may be Number One on iTunes, but Carly Rae’s “Call Me Maybe” is still the song of the summer. Books: Summer seems the best season to re-read favorite classics: Mine currently is “Middlemarch.” Sports: Did you know that R. A. Dickey, the Met with the best win-loss record in the majors, was an English-Lit major at the University of Tennessee? Another reason to love him. Finally: I recently spent a wonderful week with my very large family, and nobody talked politics. Hooray!
