Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends

Movies: No big blockbuster releases while the Olympics are getting underway. There’s “The Watch,” a guy comedy that looks pretty dreadful, but that’s about it. Also “Killer Joe,” a very violent Gothic written by Tracy “August: Osage County” Letts. Television: There’s a Cuban concert on Friday night on PBS that looks jangly. On Sunday, there’s one last “Inspector Lewis” on Masterpiece Mystery. Music: The Number One CD on Amazon is from William Michael Dillon, a man wrongfully imprisoned for 27 years. If I could go into a store or restaurant and not hear a pop diva, I’d go to church and light a candle of thanks. Books: Every summer I re-read a classic by Willa Cather, but this year I can’t decide between “My Antonia” and “Song of the Lark.” At the other end of the spectrum, I read another page of “Fifty Shades of Grey” at the bookstore: preposterously awful. Sports: I’ll watch the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, but otherwise I’m still in baseball mode. Finally: I’ve barely looked at Facebook lately: it feels great.
