Ryan Murphy Is Afraid Of Nuns
This sentence by Ryan Murphy, the creator of “American Horror Story,” encapsulates why I have less-than-zero interest in that TV program, which is about to return for a second season: “I’m scared of aliens and I’m scared of Nazis and I’m scared of nuns.” As if the three groups were somehow equivalent. I’m a lot more scared of a culture in which a show like “American Horror Story” is considered any good than I am of nuns, most of whom, in my experience, have been pretty great. On the other hand, the cosmetically marred face of Jessica Lange: now that’s scary.
