Television: Sunday-Night Scorecard
Call the Midwife: In the season finale, the oldest nun is accused of larceny, and scene stealer Chummy resolves her romance. Plus: a multiple birth. Pretty great. Grade: A-. Upstairs Downstairs: Sir Hallam is such a prig! After a slow start, this episode gathered steam toward the end. Blackmail! Intrigue! Espionage! Grade: B+. The Good Wife: What would New York-based actors do without this series? Denis O’Hare, Brian Dennehy, Amanda Peet all in this episode. A weak central court case dragged the episode down, as did Maura Tierney’s bombshell announcement. SEAL Team Six: This movie reduced the killing of Bin Laden to florid melodrama, with Obama as edited-in co-star. Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming feature film on the subject has got to be better than this. Grade: C-.
