Obama Cried At “The Butler”

Does that increase its Oscar chances? President Obama admitted in an interview on Tuesday that he “did tear up” while watching “The Butler,” the film based on the true story of an African-American, White House butler. “I teared up just thinking about not just butlers who have worked here at the White House, but an entire generation of people who were talented and skilled, but because of Jim Crow, because of discrimination, there was only so far they could go,” the president told radio hosts Tom Joyner and Sybil Wilkes on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Despite how he moved he said he was by the film, he admitted his favorite parts were “Cuba Gooding Jr.’s jokes.” The president also complimented “my girl Oprah” for her acting.
