Nudity Week At Brown: Campus Fun?

The jokes write themselves: It’s Nudity Week at Brown University. A sampling from the roster of events: “Love Being Naked? Want to be Naked More? Want to watch others perform naked? Want to step out of your comfort zone? Want to talk about nudity?” This is the same school, after all, that hosts the Naked Doughnut Run and the Sex, Power, God party — so it’s not really a surprise to have an entire week devoted to all things bare and in the buff. Somehow, I don’t think Harvard and Yale need to have everybody strip down to call attention to themselves. But, the supposed point of Nudity Week, say organizers Rebecca Wolinsky and Camila Pacheco-Fores, is to help Brown students remove their negative stereotypes about body image.
