“Grand Budapest Hotel”: Rave Reviews

Yesterday, I told you that the only movie I salivate to see before summer blockbusters arrive in early May is “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” (March 7 is the USA release date.) Well, the picture opened the Berlin film festival yesterday and for the most part received rave reviews. The Telegraph says: ‘It’s like a magnum of house champagne. You might get light-headed on the pure fun of it.’ Variety: ‘This twisty tale of murder, theft, conspiracy and unlikely friendship finds its maker [Wes Anderson] in an unusually ambitious and expansive mood.’ Ralph Fiennes plays a bisexual concierge, and Tilda Swinton plays a batty old broad.
