Beastie Boys Won’t Make More Music

The Beastie Boys are currently involved in a legal dispute with Monster Energy Drink, who they’re suing for using the group’s music without permission in a promotional video. During his testimony last week, Mike D revealed something about the group’s future, as NME notes via the New York Daily News: As a promise to the late Adam Yauch, they won’t be making any new music. “We have not been able to tour since MCA, Adam Yauch, died,” Diamond said. “We can’t make new music.” In his testimony, Mike D also revealed that the group turned down an request to use “Sabotage” in the recent Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie of the same name. “We weren’t fans of Mr. Schwarzenegger’s recent… work,” he said.
