Your Weekend: A Selective Guide

Movies: Does Channing Tatum have to be in everything? This week, it’s “22 Jump Street.” For the kids, there’s “How To Train Your Dragon 2.” Television: Sunday brings the finale of “Game of Thrones.” And on Friday there’s a Tanglewood 75th Anniversary special on PBS. Music: I can’t resist anything called “Stockholm,” including Chrissie Hynde’s latest CD. One of my desert-island discs would be “Stratas Sings Weill.” Books: Hillary Clinton’s “Hard Choices” hasn’t been number one on the best-seller lists this week: it needs to generate more sales to earn back its $8 million advance (not $18 million as some ill-informed sources originally had it.) Sports: The Rangers, the only New York team liable to make a final round anytime soon, are going down. That’s the bad news. The good news: so is Miami. Finally: Father’s Day is yet one more holiday dreamed up by greeting-card companies.
