Queen Confers Honour On Maggie Smith

Dame Maggie Smith — who, in spite of a long, illustrious career seems destined to be remembered as the Dowager on “Downton”has become a Companion of Honour in an investiture ceremony on Friday at Windsor Castle. There are very few Companions of Honour and it is one of Britain’s highest awards. It carries no title but you can add a CH after your name. There are just 46 other Companions of Honour including Stephen Hawking, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen. Judi got a CH before Maggie? But Maggie had two Oscars when Judi was still touring the provinces! Something wrong there. But cheers to Maggie!
